Why does Battlefield Bad Company 2 require such a good computer?

I can understand it's a HUGE game, but I don't get why it needs such a fast CPU and GPU.Why does Battlefield Bad Company 2 require such a good computer?
It's not as high as you think. What you see first is the recommended specs. It can work on lower specs but it wont run as well of course. You can always put settings to low anyway.
